Twenty-five questions to answer before you choose a route, a partner or a budget. If you can’t answer more than a handful, start with a readiness assessment.

Strategy and timing

What is your target go-live date, and what is driving it?
Do you know your current ECC release, database and maintenance position?
Has the board agreed why you are moving, beyond the support deadline?
Have you compared brownfield, greenfield and selective data transition for your system?
Do you understand what RISE with SAP would and wouldn’t include for you?

Custom code

How many custom objects do you have?
How many of them were used in the last 12 months?
Which custom code duplicates standard S/4HANA functionality?
Who can explain your most critical custom programs today?
Have you run a simplification item check against your target release?

Data

Who owns each master data object (customers, suppliers, materials, finance)?
How many duplicate business partners do you expect?
How much transaction history must stay online?
Are open items, such as old purchase orders and uncleared items, under control?
Do you have archiving in place?

Integration and landscape

Do you have a complete list of interfaces, with owners?
Which interfaces are point-to-point and could move to SAP Integration Suite?
Which third-party systems must be upgraded at the same time?
Is your reporting and analytics landscape part of the scope?
Do you know which extensions could move side-by-side to SAP BTP?

People and delivery

Which business process owners can commit real time to design and testing?
How will you test: tools, scope and who signs off?
How many cutover rehearsals have you planned?
What does hypercare look like, and who supports the system after go-live?
Which AI and Joule use cases do you want ready from day one?
